Whole Black Peppercorn

Black pepper is known to many as the "King of Spices". Black, white, and green peppercorns are all the same fruit of a large tropical shrub. What makes a black peppercorn a black peppercorn is that the peppercorn is harvested when the berry hasnt fully ripened, a green peppercorn, and then the berry is dried. This process produces a distinctly spicy flavor which is slightly hot and biting with a just a hint of sweetness.

Good with eggs, fish, pork, chicken, salads, soup, strawberries and tomatoes.

Works well in combination with basil, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cumin, garlic, ginger, nutmeg, parsley, rosemary, thyme and turmeric.
