Sweet Basil

Basil is traditionally used in the seasoning of tomato-based sauces, dressings and juices. It blends exceptionally well with oregano for pizza sauce, and with other seasonings, most notably garlic, lemon and thyme. Sweet basil is a popular in many types of cuisine. A member of the mint family, sweet basil is most often found in Italian cuisine, though it can add flavor and depth to nearly any savory dish.
